Scripture: 2 Corinthians 12:9-10

Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me. That’s why I take pleasure in my weaknesses, and in the insults, hardships, persecutions, and troubles that I suffer for Christ. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

Reflect in the Presence of Gentleness/Jesus

·         How does American culture misalign with Kingdom culture around the value of meekness?

·         Re-read the Revelations passage slowly.  What stands out to you or tugs at your heart? Allow the Holy Spirit to speak more about that as you listen.

·         Proverbs 4:23 says “Above all else, guard your heart.”  How is that going? Ask the Holy Spirit to help you break agreement with any enemy thoughts and instead agree with Truth.

Practice:

·         Memorize 2 Corinthians 12: 9-10 this week.  Return to it throughout the day.  How is meekness looking more attractive to you?

·         Each day spend 5 minutes in silence with Jesus.  Hold in your hands an empty bowl representing yourself emptied of all cares, concerns, and self-dependency (meek).  Ask the Holy Spirit to fill you with himself and with the love of God (Romans 5:5).

Prayer:

O Lamb of God,
I know your love, but I know so little of Your meekness.
Jesus, Lamb of God,
give, oh, give me Yourself with Your meekness and humility.
Jesus, I am nothing and You are all.

Psalm 86: 11-12

Teach me your ways, O Lord,
that I may live according to your truth.
Grant me purity of heart.
With all my heart I will praise you, O Lord my God.
I will give glory to your name forever.
